I'm loving the cooler weather, so I've got three soup specials this week:
- Duck Gumbo ~ dark chocolate roux with roasted duck and the blessed trinity of vegetables (served with rice on the side) ~ $12/quart
- Potato Cheddar ~ a rich velouté with bacon, sherry and shallots ~ $8/quart (I can leave the bacon out if there are any vegetarians), and
- Mixed Mushroom ~ broth based with red wine, thyme and black pepper (our favorite cold-weather soup!) ~ $8/quart.
